WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THAT HANDLETTERING WITH A BRUSH PEN DIDN’T HAVE TO BE SO FRUSTRATING?!

What if there was a way to learn something difficult, little by little, so that the process was enjoyable and less overwhelming?

Well, now there is!

So why 21 days? Well, I know that it can be frustrating to purchase a brush pen, sit down to handletter with it and realize, “Wow! This is so much harder than it looks!” But I don’t believe it has to be that way.

Throughout my 6+ years of teaching handlettering, I have realized that there are a few things that help you learn how to hand letter. Things like simplifying the strokes, learning them in a certain order & immediately implementing a newly learned skill can be a real game-changer when learning brush lettering.

And I’ve used those things (and more!) to create a course that helps guide you through the process of learning how to brush letter.

Here’s what’s included:

  • 21 days of video lessons where you will watch 1 video per day!

  • A chance to implement what you’ve learned through 21 days of homework assignments! For each homework assignment, there is a video in which I’ve created a version of the homework to play alongside your own homework session.

  • 30+ page printable bundle to help you implement and practice what you’ve learned.

FAQS:

Q: How much time will I need to spend on this course each day?
A: Each day you will watch 2 videos. The first video is the main lesson and these range from around 10-20 minutes per day, give or take a few lessons. The second video is your homework assignment, where you’ll join me in implementing what you’ve just learned. You may spend another 10-20 minutes practicing, depending on the day and depending on how much you want to practice.

Q: Do I have to complete the course in 21 days?
A: NO! Not at all. This course is completely self-paced. If you need to spend a couple of days on one lesson, that’s completely fine! You can take this course on your own time as you are able.

Q: Do I need a lot of supplies for this course?
A: This course was designed around creating brush lettering with the brush pen of your choosing, so you will need a brush pen. There are a couple of lessons that require a water based brush pen, so that is what I’d recommend. But you can sub a Crayola marker for those lessons if needed. There are also 2 lessons that require the use of a paintbrush or waterbrush and watercolor paper is recommended in those lessons. As always, I recommend a nice paper for brush lettering, such as HP Premium 32, or the use of tracing paper if you’re not able to find smooth printer paper.

Q: What is included with the printable set?
A: The printables are designed in work-book style, meant to be printed out and used throughout the course. Many of your homework assignments have a printable component, so you will simply follow along in the workbook as you go throughout the course. There are 2 different size options for you to print out, depending on what type of brush pen you’re using. The printable pages are 35 (for the smaller size) and 40 pages (for the larger size) + a cover page.

Q: What style of handlettering will I learn in this course?
A: The unique nature of this course is that we’re not just learning 1 style. I will teach you the basics, starting with specific groups of strokes that I put together with the hope of making it easier to learn handlettering! We’ll start by using the brush pen with your everyday writing & continue on to a brush calligraphy and then expand on that style. At the end of this course, you should be familiar with a both a print & script style using a brush pen in both upper & lower case. But even more than that, you should have the tools to continue on to create many more styles of handlettering in the future.

Q: Are there refunds available?
A: Due to the instant download nature of this course & printables, we do not offer refunds at this time. But we really want you to love your course! Please contact us with any questions or concerns at hello@howtohandletter.com
